Who Is?

I was the Lead Editor on Who Is? In this role I expanded upon the original creative team’s work by developing longer episodes, reducing the edit turnaround so the show could be reactive to news stories, and refreshing the look of the show.

I carefully crafted each episode to bring writer PJ Evans’ witty and searing scripts to life, through a mix of representative archival footage from the Prelinger Archive and contemporary subscription photos and videos.

In 2021, I edited and post-supervised freelance editors on a 5-part companion season to the Discovery+ documentary Chasing Ghislaine. The season focused on Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted child sex trafficker, and the prominent people in her orbit such as Prince Andrew, as well as the lawyers who would be defending her in court.

Throughout my tenure on the show I worked with an incredible roster of talented folks who provided voiceovers. People like Aisha Tyler, Natalie Portman, Talib Kweli, Yedoye Travis, Anna Akana, Shakina Nayfack, and Margaret Cho to name but a few. I reviewed the scripts ahead of going to talent, suggesting cuts and expansions, and produced VO reads both remote and in-person at NowThis’ studios.

And ahead of the 2020 presidential election, the crew brought our attention to the man who was at the center of all of it. Who Is Donald Trump? was our most ambitious episode to date, focusing on Trump’s rise to prominence, his racist and shady dealings as a real estate mogul, his history of rape allegations and sexist remarks and behavior, and of course Trump Steaks. We recruited Academy Award winning actor Julianne Moore did the voice over, and this episode has over 16 million views across NowThis’ social platforms. It even got a lovely write up in Breitbart.
